Coach Barnes was a great mentor. I had him both Reed and Hillcrest. He was still involved in sports. I was a cheerleader and I remember at Reed he was very adamant that all girls learned what was going on on the field or on the court before we started our cheers. he would hold classes for us to teach us before we could cheer..(i am sure a pet peeve to him) Good times and great memories of a great mentor to all students

He was an amazing teacher! Had him for freshman biology. He probably had no idea how many lives he touched including mine. My heart goes out to his family.
