Walter L. Simmons, age 69 of Wheatland, MO passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Northwood Hills Care Center.  Walter was born to Faye (Rife) and Ira Simmons April 11, 1943, in St. Clair County, MO. 

          He was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife Twila “Corky” Simmons; a step-son Richy Rife; and three brothers: Billy, Larry, and Leroy Simmons.

          He is survived by three children: Teresa Leann Highley of Meridian, ID, Jerry Lee Simmons of Wheatland, MO, and Michael Lee Simmons of Meridian, ID; two step-daughters: Sheryl Ginnings of Wheatland, MO, and Carla Rife of Belton, MO; 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren; one brother Kenneth Simmons of Peculiar, MO; two sisters: Louise Cooper of CA, and Wilma Corlew of Wheatland, MO; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
