Bobby Jack Holmes, age 88, of Merriam Woods, Missouri, was called to the Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2018. He entered this world on July 22, 1930, in beautiful Magnolia, Arkansas, the son of Horace and Jewette Holmes. He was joined in marriage June 7, 1952, to the love of his life, Erlene Rogers. Together for over 65 years of marriage. Bobby left this world peacefully with his family and his beloved pets at his side. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
Bobby proudly served our country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 32nd Infantry Regiment. He enjoyed the great outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, bird watching, camping, and gardening. Along with his outdoor hobbies, Bobby thoroughly loved being around his pets Choco, Miranda, Honey, and Sweetheart. Bobby’s greatest joy came from his family and spending time with them. A family who will miss him dearly.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Erlene; brother, Louis Holmes; and sister, Katie Wilson.
He is survived by his son, Gary and wife Ede Holmes of Rogers, Arkansas; daughter, Peggy Holmes of Merriam Woods, Missouri; and grandchildren: Travis Panther and wife Nikki, David Holmes, and Katie Holmes.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held 11:00 AM, August 4, 2018, at the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church in Branson, Missouri with Pastor Wendell Crosswhite and Bill Snowden officiating. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
