Obituary – Olivia Lauryn Didway

Olivia Lauryn Didway

July 4, 1996 – June 27, 2014
Age: 17
Residence: Republic, MO
Olivia Lauryn Didway entered this life like the fireworks on Independence Day with a bang on July 4, 1996.  She was awarded her angel wings on June 27, 2014.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather Angela and Kody Rose, her dad David Sullivan and Erika Rhodes, and her father William Didway; her siblings Devon Suttles, Alex Sullivan, Emilee Sullivan, and Stella Rose, the love of her life Pierce Pittman, along with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless other family and friends.

Olivia is preceded in death by her grandparents Leroy Sullivan, Melvin Rousey and Rada Usher.

Liv was dedicated to Christ as a baby at Truth Tabernacle.  She attended Harvest Ministries, UPC.

Olivia was a senior at Republic High school where she was a member of both Honor and Show Choir.  She was an outstanding athlete on the track team, winning many medals for her achievements. Liv was looking forward to tutoring underclassmen in the prestigious A+ Program and was ecstatic at only attending school for half a day due to her previous hard work and dedication in academics.

Liv had a strong work ethic and loved making money by holding three part-time jobs to support her daily dose of Starbucks for herself and baby Stella, her pretty princess.  Liv also fancied coordinating the latest trends in hair, dress, nails, and makeup for her Sweet Pea, Emilee like a true fashionista.

She also liked to exchange pranks with her “Bub” Alex, the usual instigator, as well as having a mutual enjoyment of longboarding around town and “sharing” friends.

Olivia loved watching old movies, especially those starring Audrey Hepburn.  She also loved capturing everyday moments both in front of and behind the camera and sharing them with friends and family via social media.  She was not afraid to exchange fashion for camo, hunting boots, and a long rifle.  Liv also enjoyed four-wheeling, boating, Harley riding with her dad, and many other outdoor activities.

Liv defined love and compassion beyond her years, always looking for the good in people and creating a positive influence for her peers.  She was a good listener, problem solver, and faithful friend.  Olivia never met a stranger, was in love with life, and her kindness radiated through her beautiful smile and selfless actions by always thinking of others.

Olivia’s compassion and willingness to serve others continued even in her passing through her prior decision to give life through the Organ Donation Program.  Her selfless decision to be an organ donor allowed her to save the life of a near death ten year old boy by giving her loving heart to him.  While we know she has already saved the lives of five people, we will never know the number of people impacted through her donation. She encouraged others to participate in the Organ Donation Program.

Olivia’s celebration of life will be on Tuesday, July 1 from 6 – 8 pm, and her homecoming will be Wednesday, July 2nd at 10 am under the direction of Greenlawn East Funeral Home.

A memorial fund has been set up in Olivia’s name to help pay for medical and funeral expenses.  You can donate at:
