John Henry Cook, age 94, of Omaha, Arkansas, passed away January 8, 2021, with family at his bedside. He entered this life September 16, 1926, in Beckley, West Virginia, the son of Stewart and Stella (Richmond) Cook.

John Henry proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He was an avid arm wrestler and basketball player for many years. John Henry had a green thumb and took pleasure in watching and feeding birds. He was best known for teaching the Word of God any opportunity he had. Using his lifetime as a servant for Christ, John Henry pastored two different churches, listened to, and took part in gospel quartets, started two children’s Christian radio programs, established Omaha Bible Institute, and invested 30 years in children’s ministries. John Henry taught middle school in a secular school. He possessed an impressive education, earning five theological doctorates and one honorary doctorate. He loved his family and his ministries. Many lives have been influenced for good by the life he lived and preached. He will be dearly missed.

John Henry is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan (Tunney) Cook; four brothers: Jimmy, Russell, Robert, and Charlie Cook; and three sisters: Elouise Rapier, Evelyn Thompson, and Elizabeth Cook.

He is survived by his son, Jonathan (Rita) Cook of Bergman, Arkansas; two daughters: April (John) Tremblay of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, and Laurie Cook of Omaha, Arkansas; dear friend, Michael Owens of Harrison, Arkansas; three grandchildren: Jennifer (Andy), Danielle (James), and Jessica (John); and seven great-grandchildren: Kathryn, Adam, Kaylee, Emily, Nathan, Mason, and Adin.
