Lonnie Franklin Bryan, age 76, son of Voyd and Lorene (Hankins) Bryan was born July 30, 1935 in Rayville, MO.  He passed away peacefully on February 13, 2012 at Kabul Nursing Home, Cabool, MO.  

            He graduated high school in Rayville, Missouri. He then attended Penn Valley College and received a mechanical engineering degree. Lonnie married Ara Jean Seitz in 1956 she passed away in 2003. He married Julia Standiford in 2004.

            Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and a daughter Celeste.               

            He is survived by his wife Julia of the home in Houston, MO, eight children, Michael Bryan of Richmond, MO, Troy (Sara) Morehouse of Kearney, MO, Charlene (David) Furr of Solo, MO, Carla Bryan of Independence, MO, Robert (Joyce) Clover, Jimmy Standiford, Diane Boner all of Trenton, MO and Rhonda Stamper of Springfield, MO, 14 grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a sister Hazel (James E.) Alexander of Excelsior Springs, MO.

            He was employed by the Vendo Company in Kansas City before purchasing Drinkmor Beverage Company in Richmond in 1962.  He sold the business in 1968 and worked at the Ford Motor Company for a number of years prior to working for the Whittaker Cable Corporation.   After he retired, Lonnie worked many years as a Real Estate Broker for United Country in Richmond, MO while he ran his farm. 

            He loved to garden, starting his plants from seed every year.  He had a green thumb with all house plants.  He was also very gifted in his work with the church and was considered an expert on the scriptures and the Book of Mormon.  He also was considered an expert on antique Ford cars.

            Lonnie was a very generous and loving person; he and Jeannie increased his family to almost 40 foster children through out the years.  He loved children and always wanted to help them anyway he could.

            Lonnie moved to southern Missouri in 2005 with his loving wife, Julia and continued to work with the church by helping the congregation in Salem grow through the Lord’s word.

            He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

            A memorial service will held on March 10th at 11am at the Temple Lot of the Church of Christ in Houston, MO.
