Reber Ivory, always known as Pete, was born Dec 11, 1910 in Crocker Mo, the son of Alva and Elsie (Rome) Peterson. He spent his early childhood in Crocker and then moved with his family to Kansas where his father worked in the oilfields.

Pete had a wonderful long life which included hard work and a loving family. His first job was at the age of 8 when he was a janitor at his school. One of his jobs was to be the first at school to build the fire. He saved from that job to buy his first car at age 10, a Model T Ford, that he drove to school. He had a wide variety of jobs including playing saxophone for silent movies, driving a taxi during prohibition, and working the oilfields.

Pete  married Agnes Riggan, June 1, 1934 in Whitewater Ks. They had one son Charles Reber Peterson.

During WWII he was one of the leading supervisors making military aircraft at Boeing in Wichita. After the war the family moved to a farm on Bull Creek and a few years later to the home at Ozark Beach where he celebrated his 100th birthday. In the 1950’s Pete owned the Edgewater boat dock and was a fishing guide. He semi-retired  in his late 80’s after over 30 years as an auto mechanic operating his garage Peterson’s Auto Service.

Grandpa Pete as he was known to so many was loved by all. Always a musician he loved to sing and play his harmonica, which he did just a couple days before his death. He was an excellent fly fisherman, trapper, gardener, Bible reader and teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sister, and his beloved wife Agnes, and son Charlie.
