Eunice Irene Koenig Jones was born in Harrison County, Iowa the twenty-eighth of October, 1917. She departed us on the twenty sixth of August, 2015. The Daughter of Louis Koenig and Mary Ann Rank Koenig; she was the third of five children, her older siblings were Ethel Naomi and Thelma Lucille, her younger siblings were Luella May and Delbert Louis.

After graduating from high school in 1935, Eunice attended Morningside Business College in Sioux City, afterwards, she worked for several years in the First National Bank in Sioux City. Eunice enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard when they began accepting women as members and through hard work and diligence she attained the rank of Chief Yeoman; one of the first five woman to ascend to that rank. After her time with the Coast Guard she returned to the First National Bank, until taking a position as an Accountant at a supply company. An accomplished career, and service record already behind her, Eunice encountered a bit of serendipity in meeting a young man named Alvin Jones.

With neither Alvin nor Eunice able to deny a love that seems almost predestined, and has touched and inspired every one of us to a greater ideal. They were married on eleventh of June, 1954 and spent many years traveling various places in the United States, with Alvin being enlisted in the Air Force they also traveled abroad spending time in Holland and Germany. Alvin Jones retired from the Air Force in 1977 in South Carolina, and ultimately, chose to make their home in the Branson area.

As a young girl Eunice attended Sunday school for years, and when old enough, she began to teach as well. When Eunice and Alvin moved to Branson they became involved in the Branson Methodist Church; she chaired a board, and acted as financial secretary and membership coordinator. As well as serving many positions Eunice also worked with the Methodist thrift shop. Eunice also was active in Eastern Star since 1940, and was a devoted member for the next seventy five years.

Eunice is survived by; her husband Alvin, daughter Phyllis and husband Steve Rasmussen, son Steve and wife Gail Jones, six grandchildren Alizabeth and husband Matt Itter, Anthony Jones, Patrick and wife Tiffany Jones, Terry Jones, Aaron Overton and Chris Overton, and also six great grandchildren. Eunice will always be remembered as an active woman, loving grandmother, and devoted wife.
